Stewardship of the land was our primary priority as we planned the roads and lot layout of Hawthorn Woods. We have:
Minimized environmental damage by arranging the lots to fit the natural topography of the land
Protected the trees and tree roots, before beginning construction, to ensure they will survive and continue to grow over the years with your family
Planted two trees for every one tree we had to remove
Salvaged the wood from removed trees for use as mulch, landscaping material,
firewood and erosion control

Deeper sanitary sewers allow for optional basement kitchens and/or full bathrooms in basements without sewage ejector pumps
Floor and basement perimeter drains can be connected to the storm sewer without the requirement of sump pumps which helps prevent flooding in basements
City water provides excellent pressure and quality, fire protection and the option of installing sprinkler systems
Roads are designed with highway quality engineering. Subsurface drains, lime-flyash soil stabilization and thicker asphalt prevent potholes and standing water
Curbs and gutters eliminate unsightly roadside ditches
Utilities: city water, city sewers, natural gas, electricity, cable TV, telephone, street lights, DSL and high speed internet service
